The Black Deck Kit was released in Japan in 2004 as part of the Pokémon Card Game PCG era. Officially known as the Rocket Gang Half Deck W –black–, the preconstructed deck features Dark Pokémon associated with Team Rocket and contains this exclusive holofoil Dark Tyranitar printing.

Dark Tyranitar 012/020 is the holofoil version from the Black Deck Kit and is related to Dark Tyranitar 20/109 from the English EX Team Rocket Returns expansion.
